Which celebrity would you love to meet, and what would you talk about?
Bill Bailey is the comedian I’ve seen more often than any other. Five times over 35 years. I’d love to meet him in person and spend some time just chatting.
Other comedians that I like are dead (Victoria Wood, Eric Morecambe) or I don’t know I’d get on with (John Cleese). But Bill always seems modest, engaged, engaging and funny.
I don’t think I’d try to impress him, as I might try to do with Michael Palin or Stewart Lee. Just chat about music, comedy, cider and life.
No musicians on the list
Many musicians I like, but I don’t know what I’d have in common with them. It’s an odd thing, but when I see lists of music that artists I like listen to, I’m never very impressed with them. Maybe there’s a musician I can’t stand who has taste that exactly aligns with mine.
